1) Which one did I like better Night(book) or The boy in the stripped pajamas(movie)?
If I had to pick one it would be the movie because I love movies and this was a really good movie. But I liked both of them because the book was about a real person and his life in the holocaust. I also like the book because it had real facts in it and you could learn from it. In the movie it was more about a little boy and how he was learning about whats happening at that time. He sees things that he's not suppose to see and puts it together. But both of them are really good if you want to learn about the holocaust and I would recommend for you to read the book first so you could see what's life in a camp then watch the movie so you could see whats its like to not be Jewish during that time.
2) How have your thoughts or understandings of the Holocaust changed since completing this unit (background research, Night, Boy in the Striped Pajamas?
When I was in 5th grade we talk very little about the Holocaust. All I knew was that Hitler was behind it and a lot of people died. Talking about it now gives me more information about what happened and why he did it all ( because we didn't talk about why he did it). It makes me appreciate the things I have and my life because you never know when it could get taken away from you. Also it makes me want to never forget about what during the holocaust and of all the lives that got taken away during this time.
